TerraFirma Foundation Systems is Hiring a Payroll Administrator Near Portland, OR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Payroll Administrator will process weekly payroll and data management of all payroll and 401k related processes and transactions. Manage all payroll related compliance activity and document retention. This is an on-site position.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process weekly payroll; including hourly, salary, and commission pay.
  • Manage all payroll related tax assessments, reporting, and payment via ADP.
  • Ensure all payroll and payroll tax activities are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Understand and manage accurate flows of information that affect job costing (and relevant software).
  • Maintain current knowledge of TerraFirma payroll related policies and programs such as commissions and bonuses.
  • Maintain and reconcile monthly accruals for PTO, Payroll, and commissions.
  • Maintain current and thorough records of weekly payroll data, commission calculations and records, monthly/quarterly payroll tax filings and remittances, and 401k contributions and matches.
  • Compile data and records for scheduled or ad hoc audits, including annual 401k compliance audit and 5500 census.
  • Work with Human Resources to maintain current and accurate employee information as relates to payroll.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, ensure accuracy of monthly benefits invoices and transactions, including COBRA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of general payroll terms and processes.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
  • 2-year college degree preferred and 1 to 3 years of related experience, OR a combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field.
  • Experience working with a third-party payroll provider is a must, preferably more than one and with one of those being ADP.
  • HRIS/Payroll systems experience is a bonus.
  • Understands laws and compliance related to both payroll administration and the associated taxes in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience working with 401(k) and benefits administration on the payroll side is a bonus.
